About Carah
Carah is the Head of Faculty at Melody Makers, leading the teaching team while continuing to teach keyboard, piano and voice. She holds a Bachelor of Music, a degree in Music Education and a Diploma in Special Education, and has been with Melody Makers for over 15 years, with university-level teaching experience before that.
She oversees teacher coordination, curriculum consistency and student progression. Her own teaching spans electronic keyboard, piano and vocal training, giving her firsthand insight into challenges and methods across multiple disciplines.
Beyond Melody Makers, Carah is a music teacher at GEMS Our Own English High School Dubai, where she has been awarded an "Outstanding" rating in internal music class observations on two separate occasions. She has also directed GEMS choirs from KG2 through Middle School, guiding them to top positions in interschool competitions. Many of her choir members continued with Melody Makers through Grade 8. Some stayed all the way to university.
She has also collaborated with composer-director Kevin Oliver on musicals and shows.
Students regularly credit her energy and encouragement as the reason they stick with their instrument through the tough early stages. She is experienced in preparing students for Trinity College London examinations and is particularly effective with younger learners, using creative approaches to make technical concepts click. Her Diploma in Special Education gives her additional tools to adapt her teaching for students with diverse learning needs.

Student represented UAE at WCOPA | 8 medals, 2 world titles, $15K scholarship
Melody Makers student Jerusha represented the UAE at the World Championships of Performing Arts, winning 4 gold (pop, gospel, open, country), 3 silver (broadway, contemporary, jazz) and 1 bronze (world). She also earned 2 Champion of the World division plaques in pop and gospel, plus a $15,000 scholarship from the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts.
Performed with Hugh Jackman at the Global Teacher Award
Carah's Grade 4 choir at GEMS Our Own English High School Dubai, together with other GEMS choirs, sang "A Million Dreams" with Hugh Jackman at the Global Teacher Award ceremony in Dubai.
